Een dochter is een verzameling labels en/of producten. Een dochter wordt gekoppeld aan een channel. Een channel heeft maximaal één dochter gekoppeld. Een dochter kan aan meerdere channels gekoppeld zijn. Een dochterbestand  bevindt zich tussen het moederbestand en de channel van de afnemer. Het kan zijn dat eenzelfde product in het moederbestand via verschillende dochterbestanden wordt aangeboden in verschillende varianten. In een dochterbestand kunnen specifieke kenmerken, zoals kortingen, gekoppeld worden aan producten. Deze kenmerken gelden alleen voor de specifieke channel waar de dochter aan gekoppeld is.
